Sometimes I get an idea in my head for a shoot and I can’t stop thinking about it until I make it happen, and I had a vision of 70s clothes, a classic car, disco balls, and a retro backdrop. It came to life when I found the perfect models, Claire & Paul. Claire is basically a fashion icon, and not only did she source an authentic 1970s three piece suit, she also picked up sewing and altered her denim jumpsuit the week of the session!! They helped me choose Moodrights, a local vintage themed dive bar, as location number one. Their block-style TVs, old school bowling alley, neon signs, and billiards tables made an amazing backdrop for the first half of the session.
After that, we rented an 1973 Ford Mustang from Callan’s Classics and took a drive under those fabulous oak trees Savannah is so well known for. Sherri, one of the owners, suggested The Thunderbird Inn as a backdrop for the Mustang, so we headed that way and boy did it work out perfect!!
I am so in love with how these photos turned out, and I think it’s so cool to realize you can do whatever the heck you want for your engagement session. Why not be a little different?
